The Sanctuary Concerts is an acoustic music series featuring well-loved national and regional performers. Our concerts take place at the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township, NJ, two Saturdays of every month from September through May, at 8:00 PM.

The Sanctuary Concerts, Inc., is a nonprofit corporation run by a group of music-loving volunteers.  Here is a list of our past concerts.

To us, acoustic music is a diverse and lively assortment of musical styles, covering every form of music that clever and creative musicians can write and perform, from a capella to comedy to blues, bluegrass, klezmer, folk/rock, and the work of contemporary singer/songwriters.

Our concerts take place in the beautiful sanctuary space of the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township. The space is airy and intimate, and the room is fully wheelchair-accessible. Most concerts will include a feature performer and an opening act. The ticket price includes desserts and coffee at intermission.

We'd love to see you at an upcoming concert.

Scott Sheldon, concert chair

Here are some kind words people have sent us:

You guys do everything right!  Lucy Kaplansky (performer)

Thanks for such a great job in producing this show...  Lee Olsen (agent for David Bromberg)

Thanks so much for really knowing how to run, promote and organize a concert.  Cherish The Ladies

Could I live at The Sanctuary? Annabel B.

I was speaking with a friend recently, who is a professional musician, and we agreed that the Suzanne Vega concert we saw at your venue in May was one of the top five concerts we've ever seen. She played perfectly, and because of the venue and the sound quality we got it all.  -John Byron Kuhner, The Gothamist

I just wanted to tell you, I had the time of my life at the Colin Hay concert last Saturday night. As always Sanctuary Concerts are warm and make everyone in attendance feel comfortable (if you're lucky enough to rent a pad). George U.

I loved the concert and fyi the “handling" charge alone for 2 Police tickets at Madison Square Garden is more than the price of one ticket for a concert at the Sanctuary. Keep up the good work! Renny A.

This year’s concerts were wonderful. It is a gift to all of us that you do this. Thank you. Cindy S.

You should be very proud of yourself for the great line-up and enthusiastic crowds who flock to The Sanctuary. There were a lot of good vibes at the shows we attended, and we left each concert feeling fortunate to have been there.  Jane C.

That is an absolutely incredible line-up. It already uses up 8 on my Pick 6! You have outdone yourself! Ken K.

On behalf of the silent ones in the folk-Americana music community in northern NJ, thanks to Sanctuary Concerts for your effort, work, and production.  Colin M.

This is a wonderful series always, and a pleasure not to have to drive into Manhattan! Jane O

You put on some terrific shows -- we're looking forward to hearing some more great music! Denise and Keith

My wife and I love what you are doing. Great venue, great music. Nick F.

The concerts are a true joy. Cindy S.

You are great to do this for the whole community! A terrific cultural service. Kathy H.

We are retooling our entertainment $ this year, no more $$$$ NJPAC and Jazz at Lincoln Center -- we have always had a ball with you folks at multiple locations . . . plus when was the last time Wynton Marsalis invited me to an ice cream social?!?  Charlie

I had an amazing night seeing Loudon Wainwright again and the time of my life seeing Tom Chapin and staying for a meet & greet; it was truly one of the best nights of my life.  Thank you so much, Suzanne

We talk up the Sanctuary Concerts to our friends all the time, it is definitely one of the gems in the local music scene. Peter and Lisa A.

Thanks so much for hooking us up for a ride to the train station. What a wonderful concert and a great venue!! We look forward to returning to the Sanctuary again soon. All best from NYC, Susan & David S.

I believe this is the end of our current Pick Six so we will be signing up for a new one… has to be the best deal anywhere!!!!  Kent B.

This is my fourth Pick Six reservation for this season and the plan is working so well for me. It is comforting to make the hour's drive up from South Brunswick knowing I will have a great seat to enjoy a wonderful artist. It will soon be time for me to purchase a new Pick Six set. As always, thank you so much for your dedication to the music I love, and your tireless work that results in so many memorable evenings.  John H.

Just wanted to take a moment to thank you for all the work you do for the Sanctuary concerts. We thoroughly enjoyed Jonathan Edwards Saturday night! With all the stresses of today's world, it is wonderful to have a peaceful inexpensive evening surrounded by nice people.  Susan K.

The flexibility one has in choosing which concerts to attend (and, of course, the many fine artists to choose from) plus the choice seating makes your concert series a "must" subscription to me. In addition, the audience appreciation concerts and your much-more-than "little gesture" of a free seat at the last concert are terrific bonuses and are much appreciated.  Evan C.

We loved the show last night. Not only Eric Andersen but also the whole vibe of the community you've created. It was very special and we thank you for doing it!  Alexandra M.

"Delightful" would be the appropriate word for both the venue and music and production. See you again soon, I hope! Crescenzo

It truly was an AWESOME experience for my friend and me. I think back to that evening with a big smile on my face. :D   -Gerri R

We had a great time at the Roger McGuinn concert. He was outstanding. Pete Fornatale, too. Gorgeous venue. Terrific job by you !! Bennett P.

Every aspect of the evening was handled with care and professionalism. Thank you for your efforts in bringing world class talent within our reach, and great job on sound stage taking the worry away from the performers so they can do what they do best, perform.  Bob M.
